            Everyone likes to know that they are good at something. People are very different, someone can be really good at one thing and bad at the other, for example you may be really good at history and social studies but you’re not so good at math or chemistry. It’s a good thing everyone is good at different things, if we were all good at the same things there would be no significance of being exceptional in a certain skill. Something I consider myself skilled with is creativity. I am a very creative person and I can take something someone may look past, and turn it into something beautiful. I am creative with crafts, I always have been. I enjoy taking old vintage items and fixing them up and making them something new and something you wouldn’t find anywhere else. My favorite craft, and skill I would say I am an expert at would be tie dying. I enjoy doing this especially in the summer.

            Tie dying is a fun activity for me because you can take something that is worn down, dingy, and wouldn’t have any use to you and you can create something that can be beautiful out of it. I often tie-dye shirts, socks, and also shoes. My favorite part is picking out the colors of the dye and also the turnout, of course. Something I find fun about tie dying is that you can tie the shirt in many different ways. This makes each shirt unique because you don’t know how it’s going to turn out until it’s done. I think I possess this creative skill because as a kid I went to a camp in northern Michigan and while I was at the camp I made my first tie-dye shirt. I loved tie-dye ever since.

            It is important to have creativity in your life. In the dental field, creativity is important because you must be able to create many things such as mouth guards, temporary teeth and you must be able to look at these prosthetics with a creative eye. If you chose to specialize in dentistry, it is important to be able to be an expertise in your chosen specialty.  Having a creative background is important if you specialize because you look at certain situations with more optimism. My college years, there will be plenty of projects of which require creative dedication. Creativity leads to many great things and its in all of us, it’s your job to channel your inner genius.
