Before pouring the plaster, I had to create an alginate impression which is a negative reproduction of the exact anatomy of the teeth. After completing this step I created a plaster model of which creates a positive impression of the teeth. The purpose of a plaster model is to fabricate things such as mouth guards and bleaching trays that match the anatomy of a patient’s mouth exactly. This procedure is common in orthodontics. They often take an impression n before and after in order to show a before and after to the patient.
