  First impressions are everything. Not everyone thinks this way but it is true, even though it is sad that a person is judged that fast that is how the human brain works is to make quick assumptions. I am this way especially. I am a very good judge of character I can tell what type of person someone is without knowing them. You can tell what type of person someone is by factors such as body language, attire, what someone has to say, and also their behavior. In a professional setting it is important to make yourself standout from others, so giving good first impressions is a cardinal rule of conducting business. In the big picture, you are selling your product so professionalism is key, but you also want to be personable. In my Applied Business Systems class I exhibited this by creating a well put together business brochure.

            I am quite skilled at creating advertisements because I have a good sense of what people are looking for and I know what looks good.  My dad owns his own business called Sharp’s Masonry. He has owned this business since his late twenties. I am considerably good at creating advertisement for my dad’s business. He has asked me to create business cards, create a website, and also create a social media page for his company. Around the recession when the housing market crashed my dad was having a tough time finding work. Since I have helped my dad expand his business he has been able to work for several more clients. In the Brochure that I created it was a sample for Green Brother Gardening. I made this brochure presentable using green hues and bright colors in the flower section.

         This piece of work is important because it exhibits my ability to be able to create a professional advertisement that will create more business. This helps me as a young adult because I have to be able to present myself through a resume that is professional, well put together, and sets me apart from the rest of the crowd. In my career, it is important to have these techniques because I will not be the only dentist, I will have to create a professional website and or handouts to encourage patients to come  to my office.
